Portrait of the Artist’s Father: are one to one scale paintings of photographic slides. The content connects to tell the story of the photographer through his subjective interests. The impetus for this series was to re-investigate the initial intent and process of a 3000+ slide library. The paintings are placed in a grouping of non-sequiturs that develop into a portrait of my father through his interests, not his image. These small scale paintings are a loose and painterly abstraction of the initial image which reverses the intention of the photographic slides (to be projected clearly in a large format).
