Photobook

2017
My approach to image making is to distort and repurpose snapshots into still lives.

This current body of work is a series of one to one scale paintings of my mother's photobook.

Her photographs were taken when she was an adolescent, prior to her parents' divorce but the photobook itself was constructed after they had separated. The book exists as a pluralism, where the snapshots are from a time of happiness and the photobook from a time of sorrow (and possibly nostalgia or existential timing).

I have painted the pages individually and separated them from the book to redefine the narrative and boarders.
